Shepherd Society /Bethlehem Bible College has signed a three-year cooperation agreement with the Pontifical Mission, aimed at strengthening the values of coexistence, unity, and community partnership through sports, cultural, and community activities.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Rev. Dr. Jack Sara, President of Bethlehem Bible College; Mr. Joseph Hizbon, Director of the Pontifical Mission; Ms. Shireen Awwad Hilal, Director of Shepherd Society; Dr. Jihan Twemeh Nazzal, Administrative and Financial Director of the College; and Dr. Yousef Al-Khoury, Academic Dean, along with a number of staff members from the College and Shepherd Society and a delegation from the Pontifical Mission.
This partnership is part of a shared vision to support and develop a number of sports clubs and institutions in the Bethlehem area, including the Orthodox Club in Beit Sahour, the Catholic Action Club in Bethlehem, and the Islamic Club in Bethlehem. The initiative seeks to provide sports spaces that bring together young people from diverse religious backgrounds and promote cooperation and mutual respect among them.
The agreement focuses on using sports as a platform for dialogue and connection through programs and initiatives that aim to strengthen a culture of coexistence and promote values of love, unity, and partnership among members of the same community.
The agreement also includes organizing lectures and awareness-raising sessions addressing the concept of living together and highlighting the role of sports in promoting dialogue, building bridges of communication, and creating safe and shared spaces where young people from different backgrounds can meet and interact.
Shepherd Society emphasized that this partnership reflects its commitment to investing in young people and promoting coexistence. This commitment is rooted in the belief that sports go beyond competition to become an effective means of building a more connected community based on love, respect, and partnership.
The signing of this agreement represents another step in strengthening cooperation between local and international institutions and investing in youth and sports as effective tools for promoting coexistence, unity, and partnership, while contributing to building a more connected and cohesive Palestinian society.
