Gaza is one of the most densely populated areas in the world. The Shepherd Society continues to provide vital support through emergency medical aid, food parcels, and job creation initiatives. In 2025, we also launched a new project, Prosthetics for Children, offering life-changing assistance to young survivors who have lost limbs. These efforts not only demonstrate Christ’s love to the largely Muslim population but also strengthen the Christian minority—helping them remain in Gaza as a light and witness of hope. You can read a brief description of each project below.
Prosthetics for Children:
From the heart of Bethlehem, the Restoring Hope initiative was born out of compassion and a desire to bring healing in the midst of Gaza’s devastation. In partnership with the Bethlehem Arab Society for Rehabilitation (BASR), the Shepherd Society is helping children who have lost limbs by providing them with custom-made prosthetics produced using advanced 3D printing technology.
This partnership allows technicians in Bethlehem to design and print each prosthetic based on precise measurements taken in Gaza. Once completed, the limbs are fitted and adjusted for each child, helping them regain independence and confidence.
This project is the first of its kind in Palestine, blending modern innovation with a deeply humanitarian mission. Its purpose goes beyond restoring physical ability—it seeks to renew dignity, joy, and hope for children who have endured unimaginable loss. Through this effort, we believe that God is using us to bring light and healing to the most vulnerable.
Medical support:
The Shepherd Society remains dedicated to supporting the Gaza community by providing essential medical aid, including supplies, medicine, and surgeries. In addition to assisting local hospitals, we place special focus on Al-Ahli Hospital’s emergency unit, ensuring it can continue serving those in urgent need. Furthermore, we support a clinic that operates three days a week, offering care to the Christian community and surrounding areas. As we move forward, our commitment remains unwavering, striving to expand and sustain these critical efforts to bring hope and healing to those in need.
Food Distribution:
The Shepherd Society provides essential food support to the church community and surrounding areas, ensuring that those in need have access to nutritious meals. Cooked meals are offered to individuals, while the majority of our efforts focus on distributing food packages to families facing hardship, especially large families with children. Through this initiative, we strive to alleviate hunger and bring comfort to those struggling, reinforcing our commitment to serving the community with compassion and care.
Job Creation:
Currently, 16 paid volunteers are working in Gaza, providing essential support in education, medical care, and humanitarian aid. Our goal is to expand this team by hiring more dedicated individuals. We place a strong emphasis on hiring teachers, as we strive to reach children in Gaza who have no access to schools or educational programs. By doing so, we aim to provide these children with learning opportunities and a sense of stability, ensuring they receive the education and support they deserve despite the challenging circumstances.

My interest is in donating funds to help you feed and help people in Gaza. Christians and Muslims, a cup of cold water in Jesus name. The situation is beyond belief , the suffering. and loss of life.
So, having a long acquaintance of Alex Awad, and some support of Bethlehem Bible College, I would like to contribute to whatever program you have to help, and in whatever way. So please let me know of possibilities, what you are doing as the Shepherd Society in Gaza. (Not and easy or comfortable task. Some details would be helpful. In am part of a donor assisted fund (with others) considering recipients , and right now whatever your unique ministry for refugees, and particularly Gaza, seems high on the list.
So please let me know of possibilities and how you might prioritize a few thousand dollars for the historic refugees in Gaza, .along with what you are already doing
